Managing high altitude short chionachloa tussocks within a pastoral zone

NOTE: Altitude is normally above the natural treeline - therefore seldom, if ever, now used for pastoralism. While carpet grass is itself unpalatable to stock and feral animals, activities such as burning and stock trampling can lead to the depletion of plants associated with these grasslands, and, in severe cases, soil erosion.
