Community-based monitoring

Implementing community-based monitoring within the South Island high country tussock grasslands:

These notes are from two informal workshops involving farmers from the Hawkdun Land Management Group (26 May 97) and the Roxburgh Benger Conservation Group (27 May 97). Staff from Otago Regional Council and Landcare Research were also involved as active participants in both meetings. The meetings were organised by Don Harley and Brian Wright for the two groups respectively. Landcare Research involvement was made possible by funding provided by the Otago Regional Council.

These workshops were held to look at the different issues that may be involved in developing effective monitoring programmes (particularly those related to the sharing of data), and to discuss how these might be worked through.
