Goal: Encourage the succession of silver tussock grasslands to native woody plants.

Silver tussock grasslands may have been invaded by Hieracium species. Succession may be directed towards woody vegetation.

NOTE:
This goal will be easiest to achieve in moist areas (more than 700 mm rainfall). In semi-arid areas, moist microsites, such as gullies and shady slopes also provide opportunities for this succession.
MANAGEMENT GUIDELINE:

This goal is generally not compatible with managing an area for pastoral use.
